Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer October 2025!

Raising money for vital research to help better diagnose and treat breast cancer

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2025, I went all-out on pink to raise money for the incredible work that the charity Breast Cancer Now are doing.

Every day of that month, I wore pink (no persuasion needed really!) and had the pleasure of hosting a Wear It Pink Event to raise awareness into early detection.

See below for a fun gallery of my outfits and pictures of the event!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed every October, is a powerful global campaign to fuel research breakthroughs, boost early detection efforts, and unite communities in

support of those affected. Here, I highlight three reasons why this month is so important to acknowledge:

Raising awareness saves lives

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, affecting millions of both

women and men each year. Awareness campaigns help people recognize early warning signs, understand risk factors and prioritize regular screenings such as mammograms, which can detect cancer early when it's most treatable.

Honouring Survivors and Remembering Loved Ones

The month is a time to celebrate the strength and resilience of survivors, support those

currently battling the disease, and remember those we've lost. It fosters a sense of solidarity and healing through shared stories and community events.

Driving Research and Funding

This month is a great chance to fundraise and take part in activities or events in

collaboration with charities such as Breast Cancer Now and Breast Cancer UK. Donations

will help support research into:

· New methods of early detection to identify symptoms, such as blood tests

· How the disease spreads, right down to the interaction of cells and their genes and proteins

· More effective drugs which are less resistant to cancer to prevent relapse

· Personalised/tailored treatments which study a patient’s genetic profile to see which
therapies are more likely to be successful

As a scientist, I understand the immense time, funding and perseverance demanded in these research projects. This is why every contribution, no matter how small, plays a vital role in our fight against breast cancer.

Excitingly, I’ll be hosting a Wear It Pink event this month, bringing family and friends
together to take part in fun activities and raise money for the incredible research that Breast Cancer Now are actively performing.
